![]() I have so many good memories of the past decade - of battles waged, challenges met, goals exceeded, and friendships made. In that time, I got the chance to be a part of exceptionally interesting projects - groundbreaking work in some cases - and I had the good fortune to develop and lead the formation of what became a highly capable and high performing communications function. More than a decade of learning from some of the most generous groups of leaders, team members, and people. For those two weeks, I’ve had occasions to reflect on the 10+ years I had as a part of the Shaw leadership team, and I usually find something to smile about every time. He learned from her that I had nothing to give but love, respect, and lots of scritches. Little Fig was a little behind on wanting my love but he watched his mother closely, carefully, and from a distance. Every single time I walk into her stall, I’m bombarded with “Baaaa’s” and if I don’t immediately give her scritches I will get nudged until I do so. Today, Fern has shown me that she is the MOST affectionate sheep I have ever met. They had no idea where they were when their next meal would be, or if they were going to become someone else’s meal. My advice to all my students: Keep the game simple, don’t let it be the sport that stresses you out - you play it for a reason - to have fun, enjoy it! Growing the women’s game has always been one of my main focuses - so encouraging those who might not have tried golf before, the opportunity to do so helps that ambition become a reality. Working at the CH3 Performance Golf Academy allows me to interact with a diverse, knowledgeable group of people every day. Each day there is a new challenge presented to me and a different swing to fix and it’s exciting to get to live out my passion. I can definitely say I’m one of the lucky ones who turned their hobby into their career. My career started at my local golf club Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, and after a few cold British winters I took the leap to go on an Intern assignment at CH3 Performance Golf Academy at The Els Club Dubai 2 years later I landed a full-time job there.
